An orignial wall hanging made from reclaimed wood from woodshops in Florida and Baltimore and a guitar makers shop in Maine. All the pieces used are reclaimed in my studio, or collected from friends, in an effort to reduce waste and create with every bit possible. Imperfections will occur as this wood was first used to make guitars, furniture, and/or my jewelry in Maryland. Connected with copper wire and black waxed cord.
This piece also features an ocean created with mulberry bark paper. Collected from invasive mulberry trees in our community garden, the Remington Village Green, I gently hand-pounded the bark into a strip of thin paper, a tradition I learned from my visit to Hawaii. The top branch is the mulberry where the bark originated. <3
This piece is small, but filled with an incredible amount of stories and love.
A great piece for a small wall or to hang with plants in a window.
Sealed with eco-coat. Imperfect on purpose, like me and you.
Measures approx. 4 1/4"x4". Hangs at 9" in length.
