Painted plein air in Ocean City, MD at 31°F with barely a cloud and hardly a breeze. You have to work a lot harder to blend oil pastel at these temps. It's a kind of tug-of-war while your fingers are stiffening because you can't wear a glove. Sand grains sometimes snuck in and caused tiny scratches in the softened paint. I repaired some and purposefully left others.
