Painted during my stay at Virgina Center of the Creative Arts, this painting was inspired by an old barn (if you've been to VCCA, you know the one) across the street. It's rafters are massive and reminded me of the backbone of a giant, decaying, animal.  Complicated rafter work is forever changed in my mind. :)
