Painted as a continuation of the series I began while on residency at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts, this work was completed in the Outer Banks, NC. Those wild barrier islands made my mind drift to the use of flags to alert swimmers and ships. I as thought on them I began to think about my sunglasses. I then was like, "why do I think about sunglasses so very much?"  Seriously, I really do. I wish I could get all the time back that I spend thinking on my shades. :)

8"x10" (1/4" border) gouache & ink on cold press paper

This comes framed in a really beautiful, beachy, solid wood frame (12 1/2"x14 1/2"), glass front.
